Question by jeric2k5: About to Acquire a Canon Rebel XS, Please, need suggestions on Lens! ?
Alright so I’m on a budget, I have $ 400 from my moms for X-Mas & my bday, so soon after that its all me. I was seriously searching into the XSi, but considering that the XS is a great $ 150 less, I figured I can get the XS and get a telephoto lens. I’m quite interested in photography and I’m taking a class at school, but I do not feel the extra attributes in the XSi will justify the cost, but I don’t know. I have a pretty great Point and Shoot, but I really want to shoot at night and low light scenarios, so I’m upgrading.

My question actually comes down to ought to I just suck it up and get the XSi? I’m into photography, but I don’t believe the features I will upgrade to, will have an effect on me.

Also, a major reason to get the XS is that I can get a telephoto lens (Canon 55-250mm IS Lens) with it for basically the identical price as the XSi by itself. The combo of the kit lens and the 55-250mm I hear is wonderful, particularly given that I genuinely want to shoot telephoto.

Consequently, is this Amazon kit a excellent deal? http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B001MUHATG/ref=ord_cart_shr?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=A36DL6WLK2RE7O&v=glance
It has the XS with the kit lens and the 55-250mm, a bag, and 8GB card for $ 679.95. The seller “Cameta Camera” has gotten wonderful reviews, 4.8 stars, so its legit. Ought to I buy this kit?

Any aid would be fantastic! Thanks!

Greatest answer:

Answer by goldwing
IF that is what you want, then go for it! You are going to locate that telephoto lenses are not practically the fun you believe they will be, but if you want to understand to use them, go for it. Just make sure you have a regular 18-55 or so lens (18-100+ is a wonderful compromise…keep in mind, with digital, all mm lenses are virtually 1/2 once again their focal lenght as film cameras…and the steadiness in which you hold a camera becomes essential when shooting long lens shots! IF the telephoto lens is not image stablilized, you will want to shoot at about 1/1000 second in hand held using a 250mm lens!!!!

Question by Nicole: Nikon D90 or Canon Rebel x1i?
I love photography and want to commence saving up for a camera. I’m planning on majoring in photography at Northern Arizona University in a year or so and want to get the hang of a “large fancy camera” rather than a point and shoot. I’ve always had my eyes on a Nikon d90 following having played with a d80 for a year at school, and have played with the d90 and loved it. Even so an individual mentioned this new canon and now I’m stuck. The new canon has much more megapixels and is a couple hundred cheaper than the Nikon and I’m not positive what to do. Any opinions or suggestions is significantly appreciated!

Finest answer:

Answer by Cat Lover
Go to a excellent camera store like Ritz or Wolf and look at both of them. Take some pictures and see which 1 makes the most sense to you with the menu and controls. You will know the appropriate 1 for you when you hold it in your hands. Either 1 will give you good pictures.

I just verified my order at PhotoDynasty.com and they said in the New Models of the XTi’s there isn’t a battery that comes with it.
Is it true.
By the way, I bought a ”
Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi 10.1 Megapixel, SLR, Digital Camera Kit (Black) with Canon 18-55mm EF-S Lens
With 1 Year USA Warranty” and when I asked when it changed, the guy I talked to said “In the new models of the Camera.” When did Canon commence making new models of the XTi. And he kept calling the XTi a Camcorder.

Ought to I call back and talk to someone else.

Best answer:

Answer by Cat Lover
I have that camera, and a battery and charger came with it. I have in no way heard of a “new model”. If he is calling it a camcorder, he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. I would call and talk to an individual else. Sounds like they want to charge you for some thing that is supposed to come with the camera.

I’ve in no way heard of that company. Strange that their website doesn’t say where they are situated. Too bad you didn’t order from Adorama or BHPhoto. Those are quite reputable firms.

Greatest answer:

Answer by fhotoace
Any DSLR would be considered a expert camera.

Any SLR would be regarded as a professional camera.

Nikon’s and Canon’s DSLR’s are defiantly expert cameras.

Creative is the finest description for this brand new Canon Rebel T3i (EOS 600D) DSLR camera.

With an eye to the new photographer who is moving into the DSLR population, Canon has added some characteristics to an already power-packed package to make the Rebel T3i quite alluring, especially to those who have in no way handled a digital SLR camera.

There are a couple of really good factors that numerous individuals have for purchasing their original digital SLR camera. The first reason is that you get such superior image top quality when compared to the majority of point and shoot cameras. Using interchaneable lenses as different photo opportunities arise is also key as a motivation for acquiring that initial digital SLR camera.

In the T3i you receive a lot of the exact same technology that is in in the older T2i, such as the simple stuff like image sensor and processor. Outwardly, the only obvious distinction is the articulating LCD screen. And inside, the hardware looks one and the very same with the precise identical image sensor and processor.

But the real added value in this new Rebel is the addition of creative possibilities, like “the Green Square.” On the leading mode dial, there is a new button that is green, hence the name Green Square. When you set the camera on the Green Square, you truly give the camera full control. The new rebel will make some truly critical decisions about light and sharpness to give you the extremely best picture feasible. And you don’t have to do anything but frame and shoot. Canon actually calls this new setting “Scene Intelligent Auto,” and it is the equivalent of “Intelligent Auto” on some compact digital models.

The actual role of Scene Intelligent Auto is to control of the photo output by producing the right setting selections in the camera. The new owner can pick up this camera and take excellent photos appropriate away, with out realizing a lot about digital SLR settings.

As very good as that looks, there is even far more. There is now a Fundamental+ selection in the Quick Control screen when the camera dial is set to Simple Zone modes. There are two diverse alternatives to choose from once you access the Fundamental+ screen. You can decide on Ambience settings or the Lighting/Scene Type settings. Once much more, the camera makes use of the in-camera software to make essential decisions concerning the settings for individual images, generating you appear to be a real creative pro.

Understanding that this camera has all the very same functions as the more professional cameras ought to make the T3i quite intriguing to those who are considering their 1st digital SLR, particularly if the hope of moving up to a more expert camera is the ultimate goal.

The very best part is that a novice photographer can feel a lot much more comfy understanding that he can “ease” into the digital SLR studying method. Getting the settings right, when in doubt, can be left up to the camera. Then time can be spent leisurely studying when the shots are not critical.

Canon has taken the pressure off by supplying new photographers convenience along with professional functions.

I enjoy photography and all issues related to it. Cameras, camera gear, and image editing software fascinate me, so I am either purchasing the newest piece of equipment (or software) or researching my next buy.

The Canon EOS 600D, aka Rebel T3i, gives you a wonderful selection when it comes to beginning digital SLR photography.

Canon Rebel digital cameras fall into four basic groups based on intended user and of course cost. The 1st group of moderately priced cameras has all the fundamental functions, and sufficient advanced attributes to keep the average consumer pleased. This includes cameras which are around the 10 to 12 megapixel resolution range. These are excellent cameras and will take fantastic photos when utilised correctly. These are in the lowest cost range of Canon Rebel bigital camera models.

The second group of cameras is typically in the 12 to 15 megapixel resolution range and is suitable for the semi pro. That is to say somebody who does some severe photography, and wants a camera with far more advanced attributes than the initial group. These are fine cameras with sufficient advanced characteristics to satisfy most wants, but not too complex for the knowledgeable photographer to realize and use fully. The price range of these models is of course greater.

The third group of cameras, in the 15 to 18 megapixel range, is aimed at the significant professional who uses a camera to earn a living. A news photographer, portrait studio expert or similar will discover these cameras, with their advanced characteristics, very rewarding to use and capable of the finest work. Once more the price range of this more advanced series of cameras takes a bump upward.

The fourth group of Canon Rebel digital cameras is a really high high quality advanced line of 18 to 21 megapixel resolution units. These are loaded with each and every advanced feature which a seasoned expert photographer could want. These cameras are very complex to use to their full capacity, and undoubtedly not for the average consumer. These units are at the leading of the cost range, and in the a number of thousands of dollars bracket.

The cost range for every of these groups jumps with the resolution and advanced attributes provided. The average hobby photographer will do extremely well with the easier to use cameras in groups one and two. These units are packed with functions actually, and will do every thing that is required by most users. The high end cameras in the upper two groups need plenty of work to understand how to use them, and to take advantage of the multitude of very advanced gadgets which they consist of.

Most men and women will never use most of this stuff so it is genuinely a waste of money to invest thousands of dollars to acquire such a camera in most instances. Needless to say the really severe pro will take the time to discover to make full use of such an advanced camera, and will find it worthwhile to acquire the really best in order to excel in his work.

In conclusion after reviewing these four groups of Canon Rebel digital cameras we would say that all of them are fine cameras inside their intended range of uses. No matter whether you are an amateur or an ultra severe professional there is a camera in this line which is produced just for you.

I took my new Canon Rebel T2i out for a night shoot after it rained on Sunday, driving from Germantown to Downtown Memphis. Used a f1.8 50mm prime, ISO 400 for everything.

Question by Bianca Dominique: Which camera (SLR/APS-C) is the Canon 15-85 mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM UD Wide Angle zoom lens for?
I was looking on Amazon.com and the title of the item is “Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/three.5-five.6 IS USM UD Wide Angle Zoom Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras”, but when I look at the Technical Details section, it says this lens is a “15-85mm lens with f3.five-f.5.6 aperture for use with APS-C cameras”. What does this mean? Are APS-C cameras the very same factor as DSLRs? Would this lens be compatible with my Canon Eos Rebel T2i?

Finest answer:

Answer by Hondo
You can use that lens on any of the Canon Rebel cameras, 20D-60D and 7D.

An APS-C camera is a crop frame camera, which means they have a little image sensor than a full frame camera like the 1Ds MkIII, 5d, and 5d MkII
